Birthday Weekend Wrap Up

Friday night my sweet Husband took me out to my favorite Thai restaurant for the best Cashew Tofu Ever!!

Is your mouth watering yet?? Because mine sure is.
It was a perfect night shared with my newly married BFFs and my Hubby. Exactly how like it. Small intimate dinner with my closest friends. After enjoying the best Thai food in the Hampton Roads area we headed to MacArthur Mall for a late night movie. If you haven't seen The Change Up I highly recommend you do. It was so hilarious and it also doesn't hurt that Ryan Reynolds is easy on the eyes:).

The very next day Michael and I spent the day at my older sister Dhalia's house. She's a very talented make-up artist and fashion blogger over at MzFashionCloset. She had a Bridal consultation that day with a new friend of mines who ended up booking her for the big day. I really enjoyed watching the transformation and all the wedding chatter. After there we headed to a cookout thrown by one of my Husbands co-workers. We had a BLAST!! Who doesn't enjoy some good ol' bbq, corn hole, volley ball and drinks with good company.

On Sunday we prepared a delicious family dinner at our house. My husband cooked while I tidied up a bit. It was an evening filled with good food, cake, movies, vacation planning (more on the that coming soon!), and laughter. Favorite part of my day was the gifts my niece and nephew got me. I love the random things kids pick out at the Dollar Tree. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend and feel so blessed to have all the people that surrounded me with Love this weekend. Tomorrow is my Husbands Birthday. Going to celebrate it just the two of us. Tell you all about it tomorrow. Ciao!

Bahama Mama's

About a month after I threw Christine's Bridal Shower a few of us packed our bags and enjoyed a 4 day trip to the Bahamas. It was the BEST Bachelorette Get-A-Way EVER! I still haven't been able to completely snap out of vacation mode. Between the four of us ladies we took over a thousand photos as well as video of us snorkeling and getting tossed around the water rapids. Here is a little slideshow I put together to remember the trip by. If any of you are planning a trip to the Bahamas I highly recommend seeing Atlantis. It was Amazing!!

Love

Today I feel like a Hopeless Romantic...

"I finally understood what true love meant...love meant that you care for another person's happiness more than your own, no matter how painful the choices you face might be." — Nicholas Sparks (Dear John)

Hello There!!

This past couple months have been filled with so much excitement and happiness that I just had to share with you guys. My best friend got married last month and I had the privilege of being the Matron of Honor :). With help from the Mother of the Bride I hosted the Bridal Shower at my house. Now before I get started with the details on that let me introduce you to the Newly Weds Christine and Joseph.

These two love birds have been together since our High School days. Finally after 8 years of being together, a new house, and two fur-babies they tied the knot. I couldn't be more happy for these two and I feel blessed to have been able to be apart of it all.

Planning the Bridal Shower took loads of preparation. Luckily for me Christine's Mother helped me out with the food which allowed me to focus more on the decor, games, desserts, drinks, and all the little details. Before the guest arrived I was able to snap a few shots of all my hard work. Let me warn you this post is going to be a tad picture heavy.

the Delicious Spread

Pink Champagne

I made 5 of these filled with Bath and Body Works, a Starbucks Gift Card, Lip Glosses, and a Yankee Candle for the prizes

I couldn't have been more happier with how it turned out and the Bride absolutely LOVED IT!. Next up the Bachelorette Get-Away:).

The good, the bad, and the ugly, mostly ugly!

When my husband and I first bought our 1956 ranch home, we knew that the outdated bathroom and kitchen needed to go!!. Originally we planned on renovating the kitchen first but we soon discovered water damage was occuring behind the shower walls in our bathroom. Tiles started popping off and mold started appearing everywhere. I didn't get to take to many photos of the process but I did get a few of the before. Let me warn you it's pretty bad.

Being that this was our only bathroom in our home, we spent a good 2 months taking showers and using the bathroom at my parents house. Luckily for us they live pretty much down the street from us so it wasn't to bad. But we sure did miss having our own bathroom. Now that it's almost complete those 2 months of borrowing my parents bathroom and having the house turned upside down was worth it! I'm excited to show you guys the results but I think I'm going to make you wait just a little bit longer for that ;).
